2020 got off to a flying start here at Acuphys with two back-to-back acupuncture training courses taking place at Katie Bell Physiotherapy & Wellness in Sheffield.
Our first training course, taking place on January 18th, was an Acupuncture Refresher. This was designed for those looking for new ideas to their acupuncture approach, or for whom it had been a long time since their last update. Focusing upon clinical reasoning, common MSK conditions and a little bit of pain theory for good measure, the course helped improve participants’ confidence in their needling skills, as well as their ability to clinically reason the use of acupuncture with their patients and peers alike. The course was a blend of theory and practical, with plenty of opportunities provided to practice their needling technique. The group consisted of 12 students travelling from as far as Scotland to take part in the day.
Following this refresher course, we then had a training day dedicated to Acupuncture in Women’s Health, designed specifically for those who’ve trained in acupuncture but who were now looking to gain confidence in needling in Women’s Health conditions. This training day covered a host of different treatment areas, including pregnancy-related Pelvic Girdle Pain, Overactive Bladder (OAB), Dyspareunia, Hot Flushes and Nausea. The delegates left the day feeling confident to use their new skills with their customers and patients at work the following week, covering all important aspects of safety, contraindications and precautions, and even covering auricular acupuncture to add to the delegates skill set.
Acuphys runs a variety of training courses throughout the year which delegates can attend, but also courses at your place of work can be arranged and tailored to your needs.
